Now do you understand why I personally use Linkedin for prospecting and teach Linkedin Training to my team?

Before we dive in though there are a couple of things you need to do to set you apart from your competitors. And this is before you even create your Linkedin profile using the tutorials below.

Know Why You Are Building Your Linkedin Profile

If you are looking for people who are well connected and after evaluating your business give you a decision “yes” or a “no” you are definitely on the right page.

Here’s my reasons for using Linked for building my business:

  1. Over 235 Million members
  2. All Business Professionals who understand the power of connections
  3. Statistics show that (1:2) are decision makers
  4. Average household income is $109,000 (Facebook is around $70,000)
  5. Their focus is on doing business and getting results

Sounds good so far doesn’t it?

Use Your Unique Selling Proposition To Attract Others To You

In an era when people are shouting at microwave ovens to hurry up and we can connect to the internet in a nano-second your ideal clients will not find you unless you stand out from the crowd.

Your USP (Unique Selling Proposition) is what sets you apart from other people in your business sector – and will attract people to you. You should have a clear identity that will resonate with your target audience.  Your experience, strengths and talents should shine like landing lights on an airfield so your clients know exactly how to land.

The majority of people on Linkedin have profiles that will never “sell” them as experts in their field.  They are bland and boring.  And yet with over 235 million Linkedin Members (and growing at one user per second) business people across the globe are hoping to catch the big fish by having a profile as bait.  Unfortunately most of the fish swim straight by looking for a tastier morsel. Hopefully you?

Conduct Market Research And Understand Your Target Audience

Ok so lets get to the nitty gritty.  Have you done some research online to discover what people are searching for.  And even if there is a marketplace for the products you sell?

  • Do you know who your target audience is?
  • Are they male or female?
  • What age bracket are they in?
  • Where do they live?
  • What are their most burning challenges?

All these questions are vital if you really wish to increases your sales, multiply your profits and work fewer hours so you can spend time with your loved ones or on hobbies you love.

When someone comes to your linkedin profile they need to stop and stare in amazement and think – fantastic – this is just the person I need to help me.

Your profile needs to be the ideal solution to their problems

YOU are the brand – Don’t Forget that

This is an incredibly important step in building your Linkedin profile.

People do business with others that they know, Like and TRUST.

You need to develop your brand so that you become known as the expert or Trusted Authority in your niche.  The “go-to” person.
